Your island sanctuary
Tranquil places to call home
We don't do massive, crowded hotels packed with tourists. At The Wild Canary, our accommodations are chosen to feel like your home away from home, tranquil oases designed to leave you feeling calm, refreshed and deeply connected to the authentic spirit of the islands.
No matter which retreat you choose, you'll find a perfect base for movement, relaxation and incredible local food.
For The Everything Retreat
Valtisya, Telde
Nestled in the historic town of Telde, one of the oldest and most charming towns in the Canaries, Valtisya is a beautiful sanctuary of cobbled streets and traditional architecture. Perfectly situated between the dramatic mountains and the rolling Atlantic waves, it gives us the freedom to move between the coast and the peaks with ease. Even better, it's a seamless 10-minute drive from Gran Canaria airport.
Because we're immersed in a real Canarian town, we'll take you out to lovely local restaurants featuring fresh, seasonal produce, plus intimate wine bars for our signature tastings.

For Hiking & Canary Peak Climbs
Aguimes
For our hike- and climb-focused retreats, we head to the historic town of Aguimes. Also just a short, easy drive from the airport, Aguimes is a dream location for outdoor lovers. It sits perfectly at the gateway to the high peaks, so we can step out and immediately begin our winding hikes and cycling climbs up into the majestic mountains and lush surrounding valleys.
While the mountains are right on our doorstep, we're still just a stone's throw from the coast, perfect for a refreshing plunge into the cool Atlantic after a day of movement.

Food & Drink
A taste of the islands
For us, food isn't just fuel for your movement, it is the very heart of Canarian culture. Forget standard resort buffet food; our retreats immerse you in the authentic, vibrant flavours of the Canary Islands: a sun-drenched blend of Spanish, African and Latin American influences, nourished by rich volcanic soil and the fresh Atlantic.
You'll sample papas arrugadas with real mojo, ancient toasted gofio, fresh Atlantic seafood, and the team favourite, a barraquito, the islands' legendary layered coffee. And because our indigenous, phylloxera-free vines thrive in mineral-rich volcanic soil, you'll taste distinctive local wines you cannot find anywhere else on earth at our dedicated tasting. All dietary requirements easily accommodated.
